Acapulco

Is a city and a Mexican port located in Guerrero state, on the south coast of the country; is one of the main destinations of México and  his native language is the Spanish. The weather is tropical and dry, but in may and november the tropical storms and hurricanes are very dangerous so best time  to travel is between june to october. The currency that is used in Acapulco is the Mexican peso (MXN) that is equivalent to 156,5 Colombian peso.

Acapulco is the beach destination with more recognize internationally, is divided in 3 touristics zones; Tradicional Acapulco where you find city center and old neighborhoods,in Gilded Acapulco and Diamond Acapulco you could find all the hotels, restaurants, commerce and entertainment. So if you look for beach and history holidays, Acapulco is the best place.

        TIPICAL FOOD

        POZOLE VERDE

Is typical and native plate of Guerrero State, is very traditional eat it just Thursday , the recipe comes from pre hispanic era and is a mix of mexican, european and asiatic ingredients. Is like a soup with chicken or meat, corn, tomatoes and jitomate.

     PESCADO A LA TALLA

Is called this way because the marinade that is used to cook   the fish  gives an espectacular taste. Original in one of guerrero coast. The marinade is prepared with chile, onions, thyme and garlic,  the fish is prepared to the  coal.

    BARBACOA DE CHIVO

 

Is a traditional plate with pre hispanic roots, the meat is prepared in ovens and is accompanied of aguacate, tortillas and radish; forming a delicious taco.

   CHILATE GUERRERENSE

Is a drink with  colonial roots ,  very popular in Acapulco due to cocoa sowing that is one of the ingredient together with rice and cannella,  usually it is taken cold.

VUELVE A LA VIDA

a popular seafood cocktail, prepared with fish, squid, shrimp, octopus and clams accompanied of aguacate and olives. A perfect option later a dancing night.

                 

                  TOURISTIC PLACES

ACAPULCO HISTORICAL MUSEUM

Was built in 1615 with the object to prevent pirate attacks. It Have a star shape and 12 exhibition halls that contain the Acapulco history since their first settler until their Independence.

HOUSE OF CULTURE

     

Is a small museum that contain pre hispanic pieces, gallery of art, exhibition halls, crafts and public library. It is a good option if you want to know more about Acapulco roots.

ROQUETA ISLAND

Is an ecological reserve  home to a numerous wildlife, in ancient times was a pirate hostel. The journey is in a  boat with a glass bottom to visualize the image of  “La virgen de Guadalupe” in the seabed, the mother of acapulqueños.

LA QUEBRADA

Is a rock of 35 meters high where divers throw themselves into the sea. Is one of the spectacle more traditional and valient of Acapulco, that started in 1934. Now is the head office of World High Divers Championships.

EL ROLLO

It is an aquatic park for all ages , you can find pools, slides, children's area and extreme area also dolphins aquatic shows. Is the perfect place to share in family.
